Jamieson + SPN Unveil Rooftop Solar Project
Location: Windsor
Industry: Wellness Products
Panels: 2,300 high-efficiency Silfab panels, manufactured in Mississauga
Output: 630 kilowatts

Company Profile:

Jamieson Laboratories is Canada’s oldest and largest manufacturer of vitamins and supplements. Under the leadership of President and CEO Vic Neufield, they have embraced on-site renewable power generation as a key part of their plan to become the country’s first zero-footprint supplement manufacturer. “Our work in wellness compels us to close the circle on sustainability,” says Mr. Neufield.

Site-Specific Challenges:

The sheer size of the rooftop solar installation at Jamieson Laboratories – one of the biggest in Ontario – presented a herculean task, especially given the goal of completing the install in a timely fashion.

By partnering with Windsor-based contractors GSL and Masotti Construction, SPN not only completed the install on time, but also helped to create local jobs. SPN’s continued focus on local sourcing is creating approximately seventy new jobs in Ontario.
