Peter Goodman

Peter Goodman is the President and CEO of Solar Power Network (SPN) He founded the company in 2009 with a focus on distributed generation as the building block of the smart grid.

Prior to founding SPN, Peter served as Chief Engineer at TELUS. The significant accomplishment of the build-out of over 1000 ground and rooftop cellular sites provided the unparalleled experience for SPN’s focus on rooftop PV deployments.

Before TELUS, Peter worked in senior engineering leadership roles at AT&T Canada and Bell Canada. In total, Peter’s career encompasses over 30 years of experience providing leadership direction in the strategic rollout of network infrastructure.

Peter received his Engineering degree from the University of Toronto.

Paolo Baldinelli

Paolo Baldinelli is Managing Director of Solar Power Network Italy. As the company’s senior leader in Euorpe, Paolo is accountable for all relationships with SPN stakeholders. He has direct responsibility for business development, finance and operations.

Paolo has over 20 years of experience in the energy sector. His career has spanned roles in corporate finance at KPMG, investment management at ENEL and corporate development and M&A at E.ON. His most noteworthy successes have resulted from his ability to develop and implement strategy in the face the volatility that has defined the renewable energy sector. As a consultant and board member, Paolo has provided corporate and structured finance expertise, supporting the development of infrastructure projects for the companies he has served.

Doug Deeks

Doug Deeks is Chief Operating Officer for SPN Ontario, responsible for project management and construction.

Doug joined SPN in 2011 as Director of Sales Major Accounts and quickly progressed into more senior leadership roles including VP Program Management and Network Planning. He has led SPN through the development of our Ontario Feed-in Tariff 1 Program, building out our reliable solar sites with the highest power densities, the greatest efficiencies, under the shortest per-site cycle times in the market.

Doug’s career has spanned over 20 years encompassing many leadership and entrepreneurial roles. He founded, grew and operated several successful firms, providing project planning leadership to clients such as Hewlett-Packard, Rogers Communications, Tembec, and Corus Entertainment.

Doug is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario.

Shannon Hallett

Shannon is SPN’s Vice President Finance and Controller. She also has responsibility for leading the human resources function within the firm.

Shannon has over 20 years experience in finance, accounting and control, compliance, treasury and tax. She has led process improvement initiatives (incl. SAP, Oracle, Microsoft and SunSystems) to manage reporting, contracts, risk, inventory billing and audit/compliance.

Having successfully fulfilled the role of VP Finance Controller in large public and private entrepreneurial organizations, Shannon is putting in place the right accounting disciplines across our Ontario and Japan businesses. She has developed the best of practices through her experience at NCESI – a Nissan susidiary, Teranet, Kensington Tours, AT&T Enterprises, Carlton Cards and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Shannon is a Chartered Accountant. She has her Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Brock University.

Doug Urban

Doug Urban is the Chief Technology Officer of SPN. He is responsible for technology and operations in Japan and Ontario. This role encompasses technology strategy, network planning, engineering, grid integration and operations.

Doug brings over 35 years of Canadian and International experience in Solar and Biogas Manufacturing, protection and control, system planning, design, construction and sales in the electricity industry. His previous roles include Managing Director of Hanwha Solar Canada, Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer of BEKON Energy Technologies USA, Global Director of Hatch Ltd., General Manager at Virelec Ltd. and Manta Test Services, and Director of Network Planning & Development at Hydro One.

Doug is accredited with the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario in the field of electrical engineering. He studied at the University of Toronto and McMaster University.
